Taiwan Trip (Oct. 17-Oct. 22)

During Mid-term break (5 days no school!)
Nathan and I met up with Ala and Preston who are currently studying abroad in Taiwan.
What better way to travel from Seoul to Taipei in a Thai airplane.
First dinner- All you can eat hot pot. You basically get a bunch of raw stuff and put it in some boiling broth.
First lunch- Dumplings inside beef broth.
Yay, bunny!
Preston, Me, Nate, and Ala on some bridge over some water with fishes and turtles.
Waiting for the subway train to arrive...
Right outside the largest temple in Taipei- Longshan Temple. Inside it would be disrespectful to take pictures... but once inside, they give you 7 free incense for you to pray to each 7 stations with the Gods.
Pretty fountain area at Longshan Temple.
The gate right in front of Chiang-Kai-Shek Memorial.
So prettyyyy.
Nathan in front of the memorial shown below...
Chiang-Kai-Shek Memorial Hall
Walking to the subway terminal. Sooo busy...
On our way to the Taipei 101- The current tallest building in the world... which also has the fastest elevator going up in existence....
The mall inside the Taipei 101.
Looking down from the 89th floor of the Taipei 101.

Getting the full experience of Taiwan by riding on a moped (driven by Preston's friend)
The bunches of mopeds... They are like bees dangerously weaving in and out of cars.
Busy night at ShinLin market. Nathan and I ended up coming here 3 times. First to try the food... Second to look around... and third to buy things (since I ran out of money the days before.)
Preston eating a vertebrae of a snake.
Nathan eating a gigantic fried chicken slab.
Preston and Nathan eating stinky tofu.
Fat toast cut open with beef inside.
Preston's living room quarters
Taiwanese breakfast at Preston's friend's girlfriend's parent's restaurant.
Confusing, non-tourist friendly bus map.
We pretty much rock.
Pretty park with the Taipei 101 in the background.
Me in some pretty park.
Taiwanese signs...
Sun-Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. Ala, Nathan, me, and Preston
Bunny crane game!
Another bunny crane game!
The golf ball that it took us 2 hours to walk to... because of stupid deadends... It looked so close from far away..
My fried "horse fish"... It had a lot of bones...
Two real praying mantis on the taxi's dashboard.
Pretty little water show....
At Miramar. Nathan and I rode the ferris wheel... Good thing they also accepted credit cards.
At a Chinese restaurant that had pictures to point at and accepted credit cards!! (My two years of Chinese was insufficient in reading menus... and Nathan and I ran out of cash). We had some very yummy curry rice noodles, wide noodles, and sugary fried s
At Dadaocheng Wharf.
Beef in Omlette Rice
Dim Sum at Three Brothers Restaurant
Shaved Ice with fruit and milk.
Food at the airport from Omuto Tomato restaurant. Delicious.~

Overall, a pretttttyyy good trip. I got to use my Mandarin... which I proved to myself that I can get around sufficiently with the 2 years of Chinese study. I don't think I would ever go there again... but because it was bad, but just because it's really small and I felt the 4 days I was there was enough.
